My love affair with design dates back to my childhood though it wasn’t until I was in the midst of a rapidly growing corporate career in Agrochemicals that I realised my true calling. Giving up lucrative opportunities in United Phosphorus and Wockhardt, I followed my heart into a career in creative pursuits - starting with a Diploma in Design and Entrepreneurship from NIFT Hyderabad, graduating to the post of Store manager for FAB INDIA’s flagship store in Bangalore which added to a pool of valuable experience that gave me an edge when I launched my own creative venture - MyNook
It was during my stint at Fab India and later as managing Partner, Cobblestones (Home Linen Design and Production for Lifestyle) that I fell in love with wood and fabric in particular, working closely with designers, architects, craftsmen and learning techniques in furniture making, restoration and maintenance. I am passionate about different kinds of wood and wood finishes, combining my own ideas with all the experience I have garnered in this field.
My designing dreams found expression in my own home, which became my favourite place to experiment, curate and learn the finer nuances of making something simple yet classy. Practicality and aesthetics have always been the twin pillars around which I create bespoke designs and very soon, family and friends who saw my works showered me with compliments, urging me to take it up as a profession.
And MyNook was born!
I believe that creating MyNook was my destiny because it is a profession driven by passion. A passion to make beautiful, bespoke pieces of furniture and dress them in exquisite fabric of your choice to turn your beautiful house into an exquisite home that reflects your journey and tells your personal story.
